PRO SUP in full sandwich??

Message par loop » dim. mars 04, 2018 7:51 pm

hi Gong team,

Can you offer the PRO SUP line with full sandwich, meaning both deck, rails and bottom?
This to provide more impact resistance in daily use.

The few gramms extra would be no issue for me if it would be stronger and would prevent damages and the repair hassle.

Pleased to hear your opinion.

hi,
i see that the Foil boards will be available in a FSP PRO technique with sandwich all around (also bottom).
Will the 2020 SUP Pro boards be also offered in the full sandwich FSP Pro techno?
I would be even more tempted to place a pre-order for a 2020 PRO sup model if so :)
Thanks

Carbon is inherently brittle to impacts, so for "impact resistance in daily use" you are much better off with a glass PVC sandwich like the FSP2x.
The Karmen FSP2x notably has insane performance AND durability, just look at what Moritz is doing with his.

However, for foiling, the hull must be also a PVC sandwich to resist the foil stress on the long term. Hence the sandwich hull on the Flint.

I have had lots of Pro boards, and they are very, very tough on daily use and I do not use a rail saver. The weight penalty of a sandwich hull is not worth it, for a "Pro" use where you seek performance first. You just must take care not to hit rocks with it or drop it on the road.
