today first test:
20 /40 cm mushy, but glassy and without wind.
board GONG ONE 6.4 105 semi pro in quad set up (+ fcs knubster)
Image

No real waves, but first impression is really really good.
Of course, as all yet know, there isn't weight in hands.. but not all know that the best quality isn't the weight but the balance.. for me.. simply perfect.. changing hand you find the paddle in other hand without knowing as this can be happened.. really really fast change!
Almost impossible for hands to skid: mat finish is perfect (I don't know if the paint is different from the "normal" paddles, but seems better (or is only my impression).
Handle is a little bit bigger than "normal", but, even if my hands are really small, not problem..
I had some doubt about round shaft (instead oval)... doubt doesn't exist !!! No problem.. I like.
I had some doubts also about the flex of shaft: no problem.. for my weight the shaft is perfect.. I don't feel any flex (168,5 lenght), in water shaft is hard (not as surf/palika).
Power: great... I was afraid, but the power is good!.. even if the "waves" was really small and mushy, one stroke was good to take off.. !!! Paddle gives power at the first stroke.
I had an impression: a little bit of fluttering effect. But more stance between hand on shaft and the "problem" was solved.
I wait for real waves for a real test, but, at this moment, the paddle is APPROVED :D :D :D

Second test:
flat water (no.. not flat.. there was a swell of 5 cm and bis strange sets of 10 cm !!! :-) ) . Board ten blues 9.2.
I confirm the feeling of right power. Really good paddling speed with a no row board as ten blues. I forced the paddling and the speed was really good.
Super soft feeling in each in&out moment: paddle enters in water and exits from water with and amazing soft feeling. It is impossible to feel the moment as there isn't difference between air and water.

Coolas + 1
Gong has only one problem: Patrice does boards and paddles so perfect that is really hard to do better. When we use pro paddle after surf/mix/curl (and I have to be honest.. also palika and kenu) we feel the great performance, but in our soul we say (or in any case I say :-) ) Ok... carbon pro is an amazing paddle, but also surf/mix/curl are just perfect! ). For other brand customers is a choc to feel the difference, for gong customer is only a carbon surf boosted in some qualities :-)

first test in waves: not perfect conditions. 20 knots around side (a little bit side on), 1 mt around average of a fast beach break, not strong current, but backwash.
Board: ONE 6.4 105 semi pro.
the paddle is simply perfect and don't need other words :)
perfect handling also in wind (I'm afraid for the light weight in wind), good power, perfect in surfing (of course), really good in back side and then: perfect.
The blade works as a rocker on wave face: smooth but "solid" at the same time.

I think I will cut mine around my body length. Have Curl +10 which is too long and my wife's is -10 and too short. Will probably shorten the Curl a bit too.

At the same height for me is the best option: you can use the paddle with all boards in all conditions.

Today hard session: ONE 6.4, 1.00 mt around average wave and really gusty conditions (from 20 to 35 knots side or a little bit side on... but the spot was "covered" by high dunes). I confirm.. good power.. not as carbon surf, but not so far... and really perfect in all surfing phases.
