Hi. I'm 48 years old. I am 172 cm tall and weigh 80kg. I'm not a sportsman.
I practice paddle surf since June of last year. I do sessions of 2h 3-4 days a week. Now I am doing slow bottom turns and top turns.
I've got an Inflatable Sup 9'2* 32 with 190 litres. And I am thinking about to going on a solid board.
The program: Surf on small waves
I live in Huelva. A small town on the Atlantic coast south of Spain.
We often have mushy waves that do not usually exceed one meter.
Could I go on a MOB 8'3? Or will be another better for me.
I tried one Rrd Air Cotan 8'6*29 with 150 litres and I felt comfortable with it.
Thank you
Will be the MOB 8'3 good for me?

Hi, if you do not have some previous surfing experience, I would recommend to keep some length. Shorter boards will decrease your paddling speed and will require a more precise placement to catch the waves.
This would be the NFA 10' if you want to also noseride, or Karmen 8'9" otherwise. I am afraid that, although you could paddle a shorter board, you will catch less waves and thus slow your progression. Also the Mob requires to move your rear foot back to turn, you may not have yet the technique to make it work.
For "mushy waves that do not usually exceed one meter" the NFA would be killer, a true flying carpet.

Re: Will be the MOB 8'3 good for me?
Hi. Thanks for your reply. But I have a couple of considerations:
First of all the NFA 10 is too big for me, I do not have space to keep it, the maximum would be 9'3 ... Then I have to think about the Karmen.
Actually first I thought about the Karmen but I saw on the web that it was better in big waves:
Ideal Waves :
Size : waist to double overhead.
Strength : at her best in solid punchy waves.
Type : an all conditions board, even in the wind and chop.
But you seem sure it works in small waves ... Ok?
And another small question:
What would be the best option? GONG SUP 8'9 KARMEN 140 FSP or GONG SUP 8'9 KARMEN 140 PRO SECOND RATE (overweight).
Thanks again.

Re: Will be the MOB 8'3 good for me?
The Karmen will have less glide in small waves than a NFA, but it definitely can still be very fun with the extra volume of the 140l.
You could have taken a NFA 9', but from reading you I think it may be too early to get down to 120l.
Coming from inflatables, take the FSP! You will not be able to tell the difference on the water with a Pro, but the strong impact resistance of the FSP will be VERY important for you.
Here is a day where I should have taken my longboard SUP, but I still enjoyed myself my my Karmen:
