La Torche next week 18/10-24/10

Message par Jacques » mer. oct. 14, 2015 1:45 pm

Hello, I want to come to La Torche next week with 3 friends all the way from Holland to sup.

At the moment it is very cold for the time of year and I wonder if La Torche will be colder than normal next week.

Last year I was in La Torche in the same period and the temperatures were fine then but this year it seems to be much colder.
Last year I paddled in my 3/2 wetsuit, should I bring a 5/4 with cap and boots?

What is the best website to find out about the waves and the weather at la Torche next week so that we can decide to go or not to go?

Hello Jacques, the water is about 14 C now. I surf with à 5/4 without cap and boots and it's easy. Sorry for my english.

Don't pay attention at the french forecast. The temperatures are fine in and out the water ( maximum 2 or 3 ° C of difference ). Waves are not expected before thursday or friday. Enjoy your time here.

Thanks all of you!

So the temperature will not be the problem, but the waves will be...

We want to leave tonight so we will have to wait 5 days for waves, or will there be a little wave to be found if we go to the right spot??

We are from Holland so we also enjoy ourselves on little waves!

La Torche is the most evident ( often somthing to catch ). But the wind is east while the swell comes from the west. You can move all along the bay of Audierne ( Penhors/ Pouldreuzic for example ). If you don't mind travelling, maybe the north of Britanny.

j'arrive de la torche, l'eau est à 15, pas d'accessoire pour le froid, juste la combi.
et il y a tellement de possibilité que t'as jamais le temps d'avoir froid !!!!
j'ai juste eu froid cette nuit dans mon camion...

No problem! I can translate French.

We decided to drive to La Torche monday because the swell is predicted to pick up from wednesday.

On friday it will be 8-12 ft probably to big for us!
