The ice has almost melted in the water and the spring sun is shining again. No waves in sight but a clear blue sky
and water is enough to get me smiling.
Took the boards over the initial ice blocks and went for a nice coastal cruise. Ahhhh
The muscles got some straining into the northerly winds but it was a beautiful day. Saw an eagle circling over the beach!! Very unusual bird out here.
Did not want to fall off too many times but made some practice turns in shallow water. The water is ZERO degrees.
First day on the water for me and the sixth for my friend.
It can only get warmer, or?!

No photos from our last sessions but the water temp has reached 9 degrees. Whoaaa!
Been out with the NFA9 and I love that board. Sometimes I would like something smaller but the added length makes it soo much easier to stand in the bad chop we have. One session we had 25 knots and gusts with more!
Yesterday I made my first hang5 attempts since we had quite unchoppy conditions. Made 4 attempts and managed to get 2 "good" ones. Yahooooo! The right angle to the wave is critical, and correct speed also. Can not wait until the next wave session. But the forecast looks flat. . .

Cool MagW!
For the noseriding, the most common mistake at first is getting to low on the wave, you must try to stay as high as you can in the wave, and dig the inside rail in the wace face, to generate the lift for supporting your weight.

Re: Sweden 2013 (photos)
Finally summertime also up here in the northern parts of Europe.
Windy of course, but waves were quite nice. We have had a couple of sessions with SUPs, windsurf and longboards. Been training on the carves, take-offs and hang 5. Also been trying out a couple of different fin setups. Kai Sallas 7", original black Gong 9"(?)and FCS Dolphin 8". They all work fine depending on conditions we have had. The Sallas makes the board fast from edge to edge and very turnable. Dolphin a good allrounder and also the Gong, but needs more power to edge for me.
And we finally got some pictures for you out there.
Micke on Damn
Me on NFA9
Guess who?!
Leaving for Bordeaux tomorrow!!
Hope to meet some waves and happy surfers down there.

More windy days means more waves for us!
Warm water, and air, I like it!
Not quite like Gironde but a day on a wave is a day on a wave. No matter where!
The Empire is working like I was hoping. A little faster than the NFA, smaller and more compact, better turns and still good glide. Lighter weight is also affecting the performance for me. With quad HX1 / HX2 setup so far. Will try thruster in the coming days. Hoping for waves tomorrow. . .
Quite windy sessions but very good size waves to try the new Empire.
Take off
Use the paddle
Happy AND warm!

Re: Sweden 2013 (photos)
This season has been quite special. Days with flat water have been majority, the few days with wind have seen the wind quickly decreasing, very cold first 6 months, super high pressure summer (no wind) and then the worst aug, sept ever when it comes to waves. But october is back to normal since 2 weeks, windy 3-5 days a week and longer periods, which mean better waves. Choppy but waves makes us happy. Here are a few pictures. We are now using 5mm rubber, boots, hood, gloves...
