Message par molla » sam. juil. 08, 2017 12:41 pm

Hi, I have a sup mob 7.6.. and I whould like to buy a sup foil.. What do you receommend me? A Mob or a Curve? Differences? Which size is better, I'm 80Kg x 180?

Last question: I'm regular.. the straps change? or is better without straps?

Thanks

If you want a board dedicated to Foiling, take a Curve.
If you want to also use it without the foil, take a Mob.

The curve "Foil" is 100% foil because you do not have fin boxes (lighter), and it provides a fast paddling speed (important to be able to take off on non-breaking waves where the foil shines) without too much swing weight with the narrow (thus light) tips.

The side depends on your weight and ability. As a rule of thumb you should take a Curve model where you would feel quite stable, because the foil will trip you over on water movements, and you want a very stable board to forget it and focus on paddling as hard as possible and mastering the foil.
So, if a Mob 7'6" SP is OK for you, I guess a Curve 7'11" may be the best

Thanks for the reply... I have another 2 questions:

1) the foilsupboards are compatible with all the foil or only gong surfoil?

2) the straps are configurable for regular and goofie?

Thanks

1) mechanically, they are compatible with all foils with a deep tuttle head, and also tuttle head (non-deep). For a non-deep tuttle foil, you will have to find longer screws (+2cm)

BUT: not all foils will work properly, as the angle of attack of the foil wings must be level when you paddle the board. The Gong boards tuttle box is set at a specific angle so that the Gong foil will work perfectly. Other brands may not, or you may have to adjust their wings angle of attack

2) yes, there are straps inserts for both sides.
