HOW TO : prendre soin de sa combinaison !!!
HOW TO : Take Care of your wetsuit!!!
Your best ally in protection from the elements (wind, salt water and cold) is your Wetsuit. So it does deserve you take care of it and assure its longevity and that it stays with you :
- First of all, put it on gently. It does no good to force yourself into it because you risk tearing in some spots. To facilitate this don’ hesitate to keep your socks on, or use a plastic bag to get your heel through. There also exist lubricants that allow you to slide in easy (McNett neo slix).
- Once you’re in the water make an effort not piss yourself, it ends up smelling bad and try to keep the coffee intake down because you don’t want to end up with early morning mud once the cold water hits you. There are Shampoos that exist that eliminate odors as well as bacteria from sweating (McNett Mirazyme). About every 20 sessions make a bath (no hot water) and hand wash your suit and get the foam going to activate the product.
- Once you’re out of the water and back home always rise your suit well with fresh water, in and out and be sure you get the seams and zipper. For longevity this rinsing is imperative, do not hold back.
- Right after hang it out to dry avoiding the sun and moon. Try and use a drying rack as opted to a line or hanger so you don’t deform it, especially at the shoulders.
By following these simply guidelines you will surely prolong the life of your wetsuit. We all know that wetsuits are not cheap, so take care of it and it will take care of you
